I´m sure that always you Heard “Perú” your mind associates it with Indians, alpacas, machu pichu, among other things. And I won´t lie you, i used to think the same until i learned and studied all about this country and people who live there and know what are their  beliefs, costums, touristic places, traditional lenguages and much more.
